Gabriel shook his head of pain when he woke up. He opened his eyes and saw Elvira standing opposite of him, her vision only on the curtains that held back the light from outside. The whole kitchen was cleaned, the bodies were gone. He gritted his teeth of pain, weakness. Vampires normally healed easy from wounds, but this, this was different. There was something about getting fed on yourself. He wondered if this was always the effect it had. "Where are--" "I cleaned the bodies away." She said, and placed her eyes on his face, which was white from a fever, whiter than faces of Vampires used to be. Gabriel shook his head, he was weak, he needed to feed. He dreamt about drinking every last drop of blood that the bodies would grant him, but the most of his dreams were hunger for that delicious blood that Elvira held in that skinny body of hers. "Gabriel. You're so selfish!" She still distributed a silent calm, but she seemed so angry. "You want to know why I build my trust on Alleron so much?! Because I was afraid that if it got to hot for you, you would only let me down. You would let me down, and Nefara. Like you planned on before, running away from your problems!" Gabriel moved across the floor, placing his back against the wall. He closed his eyes and fell silent. "It's not a wonder that you don't have any friends; You only betray them. Like you betrayed your people many years ago, betrayed the people that held you save, and like you will betray many more." She pointed her gaze at the hallway. "Nefara is almost here. She'll be glad to see me awake, but most likely not to see you. Gabriel? Do you already fear for your life?" Gabriel growled softly. "What do you want from me, Elvi! See me cry! Make me confess everything, make me feel guilty!" He shook his head intensively and stood, with trouble. "You know I'm far to proud to be emotional." He grinned, but stopped as she came closer. Elvira looked sad.

Nefara kicked in the door, ready for whatever defense Gabriel had. She froze for a moment in shock. Her mother.. she... she was... awake! For a second, all that pent up hatred and anger vanished, replaced with relief and overwhelming happiness. Elvira turned and looked at her. Something wasn't right. She could... sense it. With a snap, that anger and hatred was back. Nefara looked pointedly at Gabriel. She noticed that he seemed weak and pale. What was going on? She watched as Elvira stepped aside, as if knowing that Nefara's intentions were. Nefara shook her head. She wouldn't questions herself; she had but one motive. In an instant, she had attacked Gabriel. It was a flash, too fast to react to. She grabbed Gabriel around the throat and pinned him up against the wall. It was almost strange, he barely put up a fight, though he tried. Nefara swallowed, as she drew back her lips in a hiss, exposing her teeth. "How could you?" she growled.

Gabriel wanted to answer, answer with that simple example of Elvira being awake, but any word he tried to pronounce was stuck in his throat. "I--" "Nefara, leave him for now." Elvira said, touching her daughter's arm lightly. "He's not worth any actions of violence." She watched as Nefara released Gabriel from her grip. "I need to talk to you, upstairs, alone." I don't think she wants you to kill me. Gabriel spoke through Nefara's mind, the one thing he was able to do. She feeds on my blood. It makes her stronger...

Nefara shot him a glance that was both confused and mystified and hatred. Well unlucky for you, I'd like to kill you, she shot back, snapping her aura at his like a whip. He cringed aside, as the pain struck. When Gabriel opened his eyes, Elvira and Nefara were out of the room. He gave a sigh and slid to the floor.
Nefara couldn't help but stare at her mother. "You're... awake!" Nefara gasped. She didn't know what to fell. She wanted to ask her mother so much. It was entirely shocking. "I... I can't believe this!" she said, at a loss for words.

Gabriel wondered if Elvira would stop Nefara from killing him, he wondered if anyone would miss him if he was gone. He wondered to much. It took too long before his strength was back to normal, well, weaker than normal. He stood, there was still pain, but only at the places around the wound. His neck had difficulties healing from Elvira's feedings.
Elvira nodded, smiling. She couldn't start explaining how happy she was that her daughter was right in front of her, after all that time. After moments of thinking she was about to die, and she cried about never seeing her child again. Here she was, young, alive, and a vampire. Although all her thoughts, she stayed calm and steady. There were many things she wanted to say, but they had to wait, more important things were on her mind as well. "I know this might sound a bit impossible for you, but you can't kill Gabriel... Yet. I noticed, that during my second change into a Vampire I couldn't feed on human blood anymore. During my coma, Sam..." She passed the name like she wanted to kill the word. "Has brought me many bodies, hoping I would wake up." She bit her lip for a second. "Only Vampire blood satisfies my urges. And since I have no idea where else to get any Vampire blood from, I say we'll have to spare Gabriel..." She didn't wait for Nefara to respond. "Now that that is settled, you'll have to take me with you back to Alleron's house. I need all of you before I can tell you what problems we'll be facing."

Nefara looked away, her face unreadable. "Oh," she said, her voice strangely neutral. She didn't really know what to say. Elvira looked at her for a moment, before cautiously reaching a hand and brushing the identical hair that had fallen like a curtain in front of Nefara's face aside. She didn't know how to approach Nefara, her own daughter. The last time she had seen her was over 19 years ago, and Nefara just just a baby. Nefara looked up at her. Elvira smiled, giving her best attempt at motherly. "I've missed you," Elvira said, tucking the stray locks behind Nefara's ear. "The last time I saw you... I held you in my arms. You were so tiny," Elvira started. She paused, not sure how to go on. "I thought I had lost you, that I would never see you again.... But I'm back, you're here. It's like--" Elvira gave start, as suddenly Nefara grabbed her into a large hug. It took a second, for Elvira to relax, and return the gesture. "I have missed you too," Nefara said. She didn't went to let go of this moment. She didn't want to deal with Gabriel, to go back to Alleron's place and deal with whatever problems were coming. She wanted this moment to last. As if reading her mind, Elvira stepped back to take her first real, good look at Nefara. She was astounded by how similar they looked. Like a real pair of mother and daughter. The only difference was the eyes. Nefara's eyes flicked every now and then from the color of a vampire's to that of her human color, a dark brown, almost black. "We have so much to catch up to," Elvira said. Her face turned serious. "But there is so much at stake and we need to get back soon and talk with Alleron." Nefara nodded, hesitating, before finally releasing her mother. "And... Gabriel?" she said. "Why?" she asked. "I don't know," Elvira responded. Nefara looked at Elvira with a strange sadness in her eyes. "You'll need to...feed of your... own," she said, looking down. Elvira took Nefara's chin and made her look up into her eyes. "Which is why I'm keeping Gabriel alive... for now," she said. "The last thing I would want is to hurt you," she said, hugging Nefara. "Besides, vampires are much... sturdier, than humans. Although it probably hurts him, he will heal. It would take a lot to kill him, or any other vampire," Elvira said. "But... how will you... cope...?" Nefara started. Elvira gave her a reassuring smile. "I'll figure it out," she said. "You ready to go?" Nefara gave a half hearted smile. "Yea," she said.

Gabriel looked away when Nefara and Elvira appeared. He held back his breath as it was the mother that came closer, grabbing his arm tightly. In a reflex, he placed one hand on his neck, giving her the following sad puppy-eyed look: "Don't bite." She didn't say a word to him, just dragged him along side her back to Nefara. "Let's go." She said, and added. "Gabe is still to weak to flitter, so, I'll take him along."

Gabriel shook his head in weak protest, as he looked at Nefara. She caught his eye contact before looking away. Nefara avoided eye contact with him after that, but he heard her speak to him. Now, you can feel what it's like to be... human, again, Nefara mocked, but Gabriel noticed that it didn't have the same fire and edge that it usually had. He let Elvira pick him up, as if he was just a child, before both Nefara and Elvira flitted off.
Carden paced, as Sam threw up over the floor. "You need more? Or am I going to get what I want?" he demanded. "Enough..." Sam said, his voice hoarse. "I'll tell you," he said. He swallowed. "I had wanted Nefara's aura," Sam said. Carden frowned. "What?" "There's... there is this... crystal, for lack of a better term, that allows us to take away the aura of any Kriivida. Nefara is half Kriivida, at least in blood. So I would be able to tap into that and suck away her aura." "And why would you want to do this?" Carden asked. "Because... she has powers that she is not even aware of. She could be the catalyst to everything," Sam said. "When I... tortured Elvira, she told me of a vision she had of her daughter, and what her daughter would be capable of. That her child could strip away the powers of vampires and Kriivida a like with a touch, and so much more," Sam said. "If I harnessed that ability..." "You would have power of everything..." Carden said. "But unlucky for you, you don't have that crystal, or Nefara. So I guess you are of no use to us anymore..." Sam said, grabbing Sam by the hair.
"WAIT!" a voice shouted. Carden turned to see Elvira at the bottom of the steps. "Don't kill him," she said. "Elvira...." Carden whispered in shock. He saw Nefara behind her, followed by Gabriel, Alleron, Lauren and Cecelia. He shook his head in amazement. "Well, isn't this just a party," Carden said, dragging a hand through his dark hair. Elvira smiled, as she walked over to Sam, who was still chained to the basement floor. "Looks like our positions of have changed," she said to Sam. Sam looked up at her, trying to hide the absolute shock that was over his whole face. "Surprised to see me up and about?" she asked. "I have Gabriel to thank for that. It was actually his blood only that, ironically could wake me. He was my original sire, I figured. So it was able to fully restore the bond to immortality," she said, as if having a normal conversation. Sam seemed to come around for the surprise. "Fascinating," he said, spitting blood on the floor. "Why would you let me live anyway?" Sam said. "I've already spilt my secrets to that bastard," Sam said, glaring at Carden, who smirked in return. "Perhaps I want to kill you myself? Perhaps... I'd like to make you a Forsaken?" Elvira mused. At those words, Sam whitened like a sheet. "Even you wouldn't sink so low..." Sam whispered, his voice coated in fear. To become a Forsaken was the worst fate possible. The darkness from a vampire and the magic of a Kriivida would destroy the mind and body, creating a mindless, blood-thirty creature, only wanting to satisfy its needs, but able to walk in the daylight too. Both vampires and Kriivida loathed such creatures. Elvira cupped Sam's head almost sweetly, "For you, Sam, I would," she said with a false smile. "But I have other issues to contend with..." she said, turning away. "Carden, we'll be keeping him alive, for now. I have some more important issues that can be discussed... elsewhere," Elvira said, placing an arm around Nefara's shoulders and flitting upstairs.

Lauren sat in the upper floors just wanting to sleep now. Its been so rough the last few days, she still felt weak, only having a bit of food. She washed her face off and took a quick shower. She opened the medical cabinet and found some pain relievers. She took one and closed it. Dexter was right there. She turned around and he was still there. She hadn't heard him, nor felt his aura. But now she felt it, it was pitch black. He took a step forth. His eyes black as the night. The sun was rising, she knew he would be stuck. He grabbed her and pulled her close his teeth bared against her neck. No one else in the house could feel his presence. He whispered to her. "I know you are afraid of me." Lauren pulled away. She didn't know whether to scream or to just let him kill her. "I must tell you something." He sat down on the toliet. "Nefara must be stopped, and so should her mother. There is a balance here Lauren, and they both tip the scales. That is why Sam is right, he stopped Elvira but now its Nefara that could destroy everything." "I... I don't understand." "Nefara has the power to take away yours and mine. She could very well be consumed by her own power." Dexter punched the wall. "As Kenneth has told me, many centuries ago, a child as Nefara was born. This child was consumed by greed, by the power that he had. He killed and destroied the Vida and the Vampires alike. Back then both fractions were very large, thanks to this one man those days of our golden years ended. He hunted both of our kind down. As Kenneth told me this man was responsible for torturing the first of my kind. The eldest of us all. But if what he says is true, the eldest vampire is still in hibernation awaiting to be woken." "What does this have to do with Nefara..." "Nefara is strong with her guards. I found that out." he smirked "But while I was changing I found my mind learning things from the one who bit me. I think it was a high eldar. Kenneth never has seen potential power like mine. But other than that the Eldar speaks to me... He tells me of his visions of Nefara, his plans to kill her. But he needs you. Lauren I cannot make you do this, because Nefara will sense it. But we need you to lure her away, far away from her guard. And we will attack her there. You must help us." Lauren stood there, confused. "So because Nefara threatens you... you want me to kill her?" "Not kill, lure." "Right, lure... And why should I even believe you in the first place?" Dexter smiled. "Why didn't you push your aura to call for help when you saw me, why didn't you scream, why didn't you run away from me. Because you know I am right." "Or just crazy..." "Crazy is just another word for fun." Lauren smiled off the stupid joke. "But I still don't think I can get her away from her Alleron keeps an eye on her and now she went off after her mother." Dexter sat up. "Her mother... but... ****... We didn't plan on her waking up." "Wait... Waking up? As in..." "As in she is walking around now, growing in power by the second. This will be million times more difficult, and I doubt she would like a Vida being her Daughters best friend. I will teach you." "Teach me what?" "A temporary stun that a Vida can do. It will paralyze even the strongest vampire." Dexter rose her hand. "Focus on your agression. Something powerful." Lauren focused on Nefara being a killer. The light rippled around her hand. She focused more, and it became almost visible. It was growing even more. "All you have to do is release it, everyone who contains our blood will be in massive pain for at least a few seconds. Allowing you to land a stake in if need be. Thats how your kind hunts us." Before Lauren could turn Dexter was gone, the door didn't open nor did the window, the hole where he punched the wall, was gone. She shook her head and she was just standing looking in the Mirror. She washed her face again.
Dexter rose back up infront of Kenneth. After using his aura to push into Lauren's mind it was almost unbelievable. His mind could go anywhere it wanted. He felt his passenger, his eldar, speak to him, he learned so much off his passenger. "What do we do now..." He looked around. "Not much but wait. Have something to bite, we got all types of blood here. Donated by the blood drives." Dexter looked at him. "Dontated?" "We have people on the inside..." Dexter picked up two pouches and consumed them both. He wanted so much more, he took another two. Kenneth just took one and that satisfied him. "I have never met a vampire who actually killed before he was born." Dexter sighed and drank the rest, not leaving a drop and without spilling on either.
Lauren felt Nefara come back. She dried off and got dressed quickly using her clothes. But something was wrong. She felt a powerful aura downstairs. She waited upstairs, she didn't want to go downstairs but soon she felt them flit upstairs. Nefara stopped short infront of Lauren. Lauren stood up seeing Elvira next to her. "I guess I should be going." Lauren began to walk out." She felt Elvira's eyes on her, she kept her mind blank, she could feel Elvira's aura pressing against it.

Nefara reached out and grabbed Lauren's arm. "You should stay," she said, gently. When Lauren didn't respond, Nefara added, "Please?" Lauren sighed and nodded. Nefara smiled, reminding Lauren how things used to be between then. The fun they had; their first year in college, classes and everything else. It was all so... normal. Elvira lead everyone to the main foyer. Light streamed in through cracks in the thick curtains. Elvira looked around, her irises were ringed with red and black, unlike a normal vampire's, which was a light blue, almost violet-colored iris. Alleron was sitting besides Cecelia on the sofa, while Carden leaned against the wall, arms crossed in his usual, disinterested manner. Nefara sat on a chair, watching her mother. She couldn't explain what she felt, what she saw. Was it love? Admiration? Awe? She shook her head. Lauren came over and sat besides her. Nefara reached over and gave her hand a comforting squeeze. Nefara looked at Lauren. Lauren looked pale... worried. Something was bothering her. "You alright?" Nefara whispered. As Elvira had walked over for a moment to talk with Alleron and Carden. "Hmmmm," Lauren said. Nefara frowned. "What?" she asked. "Nothing," Lauren said. Nefara sighed. She'd ask Lauren about it later then. Nefara had wanted to asked her mother about her father. She'd only heard the stories, seen the blurry visions. Nefara saw, as Elvira bent over, that a necklace slipped out from under her shirt. On the chain was a ring. Nefara peered closer. Not just any ring... a wedding ring.

Gabriel was the only one who hadn't followed Elvira upstairs, they didn't notice him staying down in the basement. He stared at Sam, weakness in his eyes. "You should've never given me Elvira, you know." Sam looked up, he was the one person that looked worse than Gabriel did. "Is that so." "Yes, because if you hadn't. You would still be in your little castle surrounded by your friends, and I would be save from Elvira's needs." Gabriel explained. "Needs?" Sam asked, confused. "She drinks Vampire blood now--" "-- And what better than traitor blood." Gabriel looked angry, but he didn't respond. "I want to get rid of her, I want to run." "Why are you telling me this?" Sam asked, still a bit confused. Gabriel sighed, he turned away from Sam and walked up to the stairs. "Because you're the only one that listens." He said and left. He was eager to find out what Elvira had to say, about everything. She knew the most, about the future, the past. He couldn't get it out of his mind. Then there was still the weakness he had, it was getting less, he regained most of his powers, but he wouldn't be strong enough to flitter before he had drunk any human blood. Was there no way out of this nightmare?

Kenneth put a hand on Dexter's arm. "Good now concentrate on the one they call Gabriel. See if you can make the traitor join us. Him and Sam..." Dexter focused. "They are in the same room." He felt his mind flash, as if hiiting a dozen brick walls he pushed onward forcing his aura into the room. He stepped from the shadows and looked at Sam and Gabriel. They saw him now. Gabriel sat up in haste. "Be still traitor." He spoke, he listened, he felt them upstairs but here he should have enough time. "I have a purposal. To get rid of, Elvira and Nefara." Sam and Gabriel looked up interrested. "How in the bloody hell did you get here?" "That is not important. What is important is an answer. You interrested?" He looked at Gabriel. "If not then your death will be all for Elvira's enjoyment."
Kenneth watched. How powerful could this power be that Dexter held. He knew Dexter had fed on someone already. He felt the Aura within him. The dark passenger... It wasn't just a pyschotic friend. It was a real person. "Who are you?" He knew the eldar was within him. The presence lurked back away, it was as if it was watching him around the room, walking as a ghost. That is not important. It disappeared. Kenneth sat still.
Lauren sat up and just walked out of the house. Nefara grabbed her arm before she left. "Lauren where are you going." Lauren turned. "Look, I am glad you found your mother, but right now, I just can't deal with it. Its extremely hard for me to even been in the same room with that, monster." Elvira heard the words. "I have to leave, let me be." She walked into the sunlight and stood there, Nefara would be able to cross, but she hoped the mother wouldn't but she most likely would be. "I just need a few minutes." Lauren turned and walked away. She wanted Nefara to follow. She hoped Dexter would help, she no longer saw Nefara as a friend. Her Vida blood made her only see an enemy now, now after being in contact with Dexter. What on earth was he... He was definately not Human, nor Vida...

Gabriel looked amazed, he shook his head a bit. "Spill it." He said, interested, but not sure whether to trust him. He never gave Dexter much thought, besides the fact that he wanted him dead. Yet, he didn't want Nefara or Elvira dead, he just wanted them out of his life.

Nefara glanced, torn from her mother to Lauren who was slowly making her way across the sunlit lawn. Nefara knew that her mother couldn't follow. Lauren obviously knew it too. Nefara started after Lauren, stopping at the foot of the stoop. "Lauren..." she said, hurt. She couldn't believe that Lauren would ever say that about her mother! "Lauren!" she said, knowing that Lauren could hear her. She turned, meeting Nefara's eyes. "Why are you doing this?" Nefara asked, confused and pained. "I told you why," Lauren said, her voice cold. "How could you say something like that about my mother!?" Nerfara asked. "You don't even know her!" Lauren narrowed her eyes. "Neither do you," she said. "You are just meeting her, like I am," she said. Nefara flinched at those words. "Lauren..." she said, not sure what to say or do. To follow? To stay? Why was happiness only short-lived?
Elvira came to the doorway, stopping right before the sun hit the floor. "Nefara," she said, calling her daughter back. "I'll be right there," Nefara said, not looking back. She heard her mother close the door and walk back into the house. Nefara looked at Lauren with confused, angry and saddened eyes. "Why would you say such things? What has gotten into you?" she persisted, stepping forward. Lauren didn't respond. Nefara stopped seven feet away, in the middle of the lawn. It was a beautiful day. The sun was high and bright, and a nice cool breeze brushed the trees. For a minute Lauren saw Nefara for the loyal, kind friend she had been only a few weeks ago. No, she wasn't her friend any more. Nefara wasn't even human anymore. Like what Dexter had said, she was a killer, and her mother was a killer, Lauren told herself. Nefara wasn't human. Nefara wasn't human... She had seen her vampiric eyes, that hatred, and drive to murder. "Lauren!" Nefara said, snapping Lauren from her thoughts. "Say something..." she said, as if she longed to hear some sort of affirmation. After another moment of silence, Nefara's face fell. "It was Dexter, wasn't it?" she said, her voice cold, hollow, lost. "He told you more than you told me earlier," she said. Nefara shook her head. "And you'll believe his word over mine!? You've known my for years! We would always tell each other everything. And this... this... psychopathic killer just waltzes in, starts spitting lies, and you believe him?" Nefara cried, incredulous and angry now. Her hands were balled in a turmoltous broth of emotions. Nefara stepped back to the house. "Fine... leave then," she said, her voice deadly calm. And don't come back," she said, trying to hide the pain and anger. She looked at her hand and slid off the bracelet that Lauren had gotten for her for her 19th birthday, and threw it at Lauren's feet. Nefara watched Lauren bend down and pick it up. When Lauren looked up, Nefara was gone.

Lauren took off the necklace that Nefara had given her. Inside was a small locket with the inscription Best Friends. She left it there handing on a low branch. She walked away and then started running. She ran further and further until she tripped. She just laid there, lost, afraid, and just forsaken from her own friend. Whatever left of that 'Friend' was gone. She was now just forsaken.
Dexter smirked. "I plan a small attack on Nefara, to incapatate her and drag her off. Bait in her mother and we will take her out as well. But we must be causious, they both have their friends. We need to pick them off one by one. Gabriel I will need you later on. Sam, tell them that I am not dead. That should excite Nefara enough to know that Lauren is still in danger. Dexter stepped back into the shadows. "I will see you guys soon." He was gone. After hitting another several brick walls of speed he hit back into his body. He grabbed another pouch of blood and sucked it dry. It took a lot of energy, but it was worth it. He felt the voice in him, no longer just a passenger, but now a backseat driver. "Did we have fun?" He nodded. "Remember, it is still your aura, they can fight you with their own but cannot hurt you physically, but should they overcome your aura with theirs, your body will be a beacon to them. Unless you do not know where you are. But anyways you must also know that the light can still kill your aura. But when your Aura and body are seperated, no light can kill you."
