(Hey! Sorry, I know, this looks like a lot, but don’t worry, it’s easy…;D)
This ia based off of the book, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
Welcome to the Academy of Night (Nyght). The world where this rp will take place in.
This is a world full of vampires. There are three types of vampires…
- Dampire- these are half human, half vampire. They look like humans, except maybe a little paler. They do not have fangs and do not need any blood. Although they have enhanced senses and skills, they’re weaker than the Mori and Strigori. They don’t have the metabolism or exact structure as Mori so their build is a little wider, and can be varied as human shape is. Dampires are created by Mori and humans, or Mori and another Dampire. Without the Mori, the Dampire race would die.
- Mori- these are mortal vampires, only for every year they age, its two years for a human. They can’t be in direct sunlight for too long, but a little never does any harm. Holy items also have no effect on them. They also have the ability to specialize in one element: water, air, fire, earth.
Appearance: they are like tall humans; when fully grown, they range from 5’ 4” – 6’0”, maybe even taller for males. They are skinny, not unhealthy skinny, but are very slim. It’s hard to gain a lot of weight, as they all process a high metabolism for their entire lives. They all have fangs, and need to feed at least once a day as well as consuming human food.
Customs: there are royal Mori and regular Mori. You’re a royal if you’re from one of the nine powerful families. All of the eldest children of each family are called prince and princes. Like regular monarchy, the title of “king or queen” is usually passed onto the eldest son, if not daughter. There is only one ruler at a time. If there is a king, there is no queen, if there’s a queen, then no king, though they can take a spouse.
Abilities: Mori are connected to nature. They have bonds with nature. When they hit puberty, their true element emerges, and they’re trained at schools to hone their skills. There's five elements: air, water, fire, earth...and spirit. Although Spirit isnt' as well known, is extremely rare and will drive you insane if you're not careful. Unlike drawing the source from nature, spirit draws the magic from your being. It weakens you, physically and mentally. It gives the user stronger complusion magic and healing abilities.
Mori. like all vampires also have enhanced and stronger senses than a human. They also have a power called "complusion". It can only be used on humans though, and also on dampires (though not as potent). It takes control of their mind and stuff ><
- Strigori (Stri-gore-E)- these are immortals, vampires who can not die. In order to retain their immortality, they need not only regular blood, but Mori blood; who has the properties of immortality for the Strigori. Immortality also comes with a few penalties. They can’t specialize in any magic or elements; they can’t enter holy ground; they can’t go out into direct sunlight, or any sun light for that matter. And when they feed, they rarely leave their victims alive. If they do, they turn them into Strigori.
Turning: They way Strigori make more of their kind is by turning, as they can’t have children. Anyone can go Strigori. For humans, Dampires and Mori they do a blood exchange; usually done as a force change, against their will. But Mori (and only Mori) can choose to turn themselves. If they purposefully kill someone (and then renounce their element, which really doesn't stop them from turning), they can turn themselves. This is one of the darkest most evil crimes a Mori can commit; to Mori, its worse then death.
Appearance: Depending what they first were, Dampire, Mori or human, they retain the same appearance, except they get a lot paler and their eyes have a red ring around their iris. When someone changes, their thoughts and morals change, it doesn’t matter what they were like before, they change.
Customs: very similar to the Mori customs, except only Mori who’ve been turned can be a royal in the Strigori.
How Strigori can die: only three ways will kill a Strigor. Beheading, fire or a silver stake.
Abilities: Once they cross the threshold of immortality, they lose their element. Like Mori, they also have a power called "complusion". It can only be used on humans though, and also on dampires (though not as potent). It takes control of their mind and stuff >< They become extremely strong, fast and graceful, even more heightened senses and stuff...
War and History: The Strigori are at war with the Mori and the Dampires. The Strigori kill and murder innocents. They also need to kill a Mori every hundred years to stay immortal. The Dampires are dependant on the Mori for the survival of their race, and view the Strigori as evil. The Mori need the Dampires to protect them. So (at present time), Many Dampires are Guardians. Their job is to protect the Mori, the royal Mori especially. With enough training and work, Guardians have been able to do this for centuries.
At the Academy…The outside of the Academy looks like something out of the medieval era. Strong stone walls, and huge buildings boast gothic style architecture with spires, and stone carvings, very close to a cathedral. Huge iron gates enclose the premises.
The inside looks like any college. It’s very modern with Wi-fi and electricity. The windows are very tinted to let in as little light as possible. There’s huge grounds surrounded by miles of uncharted, undeveloped forest. There’s different “areas” where the kids live and go to school. Young in one section, and so forth. Age of the Academy is from 4-18.
Like any boarding school, there’s a hierarchy. The politics of the royals, running the school, fighting for power and control in the population. You don’t want to get on the bad side of the royals, many who are playing that political game of power, and will probably stab you in the back if it means getting a higher status…
No Strigori are allowed, and will be killed on sight. Strigori don’t have their own schools (known schools anyway).
Okay, so make your characters and stuff. If you have one as a Strigori, I’d also make another character, as unless you have something planned.
Most of this rp is to proabably take place at the Academy (duh), or at least start off there. Unless you have something else in mind or you're a Strigori, we're all students around the ages of 15-18. Okay?
