(This is just a section of my book, Tythro the Twisting Nether. ITs just a smidgen of the map which I am going to make, so if you guys like this I can make more.)
On the continent of Jauii there is a grove set forth in the mountains where sheer cliffs dominate the landscape. Canyons stretch wide and far and all are surrounded by standing plateus of forests while the canyons are filled with thick jungles and mighty rivers. In these lands the High Elves live. They build within these rocky steppes and cliffs making it their home and using rain water to quench their thirsts. They dare not travel down into the jungles but they must. For food. Game animals thrice the size of regular Morgu Deer. These giant animals are slow, but mighty powerful. But danger lurks in the shadows of the jungle. The Har'Roks. These lands are called the Hauii.
Hauii and Jauii are two ancient elven words. Jauii, meaning "Land of the Forgiven", and Hauii, "Land of the forgotten". In the lands of Hauii entry into this grove starts by either crossing over the steep plateu walls, traveling the narrow corridors where rockfalls are very occurent and the Muvu thrive, or by traveling through the jungle. In these steppes the High Elves live in peace. Their government is stable and uncorrupted and people respect one another. Hunters are their only true warriors.
But people have ventured in, occasional travels, and other armies, usually are dealt with by the Archers of Hauii. These archers are more of their trained assassins who make sure no enemies enter their borders. More of the Ranger class they scout the borders and are experts at navigating through the jungles. At peace with the Har'roks they can easily move amoung them without having to run. They are armed with their bows made from the ever rare and small Carvi Spruce trees. These four foot trees grow in the jungles and are the most high-tension bows ever created on Jauii. A four foot bow that has the draw of over five hundred pounds. Enough to peirce full plate mail at five hundred steps.
Little do they know an army is traveling through the crevices, the Human leader of the Garvari Empire. These people, (Much like spartans lol) are trained at war. Able to kill thousands for every hundred. These are probably the only humans capable of taking on an elven army where the Elves have the number advantage. These people are led by their general Arthemitis.
Okay thats the basic backround and everything. Here is a list of everything that is in bold.
Tythro - A world created by the Creators of Destiny.
Creators of Destiny. My friends who trped with me back in the days. Now its just whoever Rps this. So we are all one! But they have no idea we exsist.
Jauii - The continent of the North Eastern side of Tythro. It has usually Elves, Humans, and Dwarves. Occasional armies of the Orcs, Undead, and Naga attack but they are defended off by the Port cities.
Hauii - The canyons where the High Elves thrive. A protected area that has never been taken in over a thousand years, After the first undead reign of the Ice Kingdom. Exists in the sourthern eastern pennisula of Jauii.
High Elves - A sub-race of the Elves these ancient people started when they became mortal. Though strong and resiliant like the elves they cannot effectively use magic and rely mainly upon their resiliance to magic to defeat opponents. They live in the northern continent of Hauii. These elves live up to about 80 years regularly until they become too old to function and usually take a journey into the Caverns to meet their fate and die. It is an honor to die within the Caverns.
Archers of Hauii - These elves are selected at birth to be bought into the Archer's Hall. In this sanctuary they are fed and kept well trained until they reach the age of two. They are then assigned a master who teaches them everything, including befriending the massive Har'roks If the Har'Rok rejects them they are immediately killed, and the elf was not qualified to become an Archer. Those who survive the first week after their master assignment are guarenteed to survive if they train right and well. Only once in a while are they killed.
Humans :
Garvari Empire: These people are an extremely hostile empire of humans, usually based their government upon Aristocracy these people build up their empire for war. Children at the age of 5 begin training for their future. They practive brutish slaughtering and perfection in killing. They are a highly formitable opponent and extremely powerful land owner within the Continent of Jauii. They live up to about the age off 45, then they become unactive in the military and go home to their wives which are given to them based upon rank. They are taken care of until they die, giving their seed out until so.
Har'Rok - These outlandish creatures have no legs, closer to that of Octupi they have four tenticles and move by grappling trees and thrusting themselves at prey. They have a harder shell on the outside of their skin but a softer mor vulernable underside where their beak is. Their tenticles are covered in a thousand small thorns where they can scrath open prey in a swoop and dig deep in causing massive bleeding. They have no eyes and two large ear holes. They can only navigate by sound. Every year they mate and the males become a thousand times more agressive. The trees fall when they battle against one another and they create loud vibrations which shake the canyons.
Morgu Deer - These deer are the steepe leapers. They thrive in the forests in the plateus and come down to the Steppes to drink. Water and rivers are zero in the forests which roots dig into the plateu's core to get at the underground wells. They are about six feet in length and can leap over fifty feet. They are extremely skittish and grunt if they hear anything or see anything. They have one antler which is massively displayed ontop their head.
Muvu- Much like Glow Worms these monstrous twenty foot worms snack on anything that moves into the dark caverns. Leaving down long hundred foot slime lines they catch everything from bats to deer. Even the occasional human. These creatures are so well protected that they are not really killed. They die of old age. The thick slime that surrounds them is enough to protect them from most magical attacks and physical attacks.
(Any questions, Feel free to contact me. There are about 16 empires of humans, and about 8 different kinds of elves. Orcs and Undead and all the other races you can contact me about if you wish to make one. I will give you details.)
One last thing... Magic. It is just from Endurence. But it takes a lot of magic to do anything if your human. For elves you have a lot more endurence, orcs as well. And Undead are mostly magical anyways so yea... Any questions ask.
The High Elven empire has lived in harmony in the mountains. Buta strange visitor has arrived that crossed the deadly jungles without incident. This strange visitor seems to be an elf but no one has really seen him. But history tells of him in the oldest texts.
The Garvarian Empire slowly makes its way towards the Steppes climbing up a thousand stories of rocky trails with a thousand men. A small group has moved ahead and has entered the Steppes near the High Elven Villages. What will the Empire do to these defenseless people who can easily be crushed? What will the Elven people do against this threat? Will there be a bigger threat that unites them?
There are things that happen outside of Jauii. Will they figure out that they are just small peices of a larger problem?
